Wedding Planners – 7 Topics to Tweet, Post, Pin and Chat About With New Brides

As wedding planners, it’s the perfect time for you to reach out to brides who got engaged during the holiday season. The best way to attract them both online and off is not with sales pitches that ask them hire you but to give them valuable information that will help them see you as an expert at planning weddings.

If you’re struggling with finding topics to discuss with your brides, check out the current bridal magazines for inspiration.

Here are 7 examples:

From Brides Magazine (US version) – February/March 2014

1. The wedding budget – the article offers tips for setting up a budget, trimming costs and hiring vendors. You can offer your own series of tips to brides and post a few a day on your Facebook page or blog or tweet them out on Twitter.

2. Etiquette mistakes – most brides want to play by the rules and welcome suggestions you can offer so they can handle all their sticky situations with grace.

3. Wedding fashion – the magazine also has an article on 2014 wedding fashion trends, a favorite topic of brides. Let your followers know you are up-to-date on the hottest looks, especially if your services include helping select a gown.

4. Creative ideas for the reception – the magazine shared ideas from real weddings and you can do that too. Share inspiration and photos from weddings you have planned or even great ideas from weddings you have recently attended.

5. Hot party trends – know the latest trends in your area in terms of food, flowers, cake or décor? Write about it on your blog or Facebook page and pin examples on Pinterest.

6. Time management – wedding planner and television star David Tutera has a monthly column in this magazine. You might want to catch this issue in which he shares a day in his life and offers brides time management tips – another topic you can talk about with your brides.

7. Get it done guide – experts shared information on everything from choosing a photographer to creating a wedding timeline to having a dog in the wedding party. You too can share similar information or, if you have a blog, ask fellow vendors to be a guest on your blog and write a post on their area of expertise.
