Crow Hill Marsden Wedding
Jo & Mark got Hitched!

I love it when new couples find us by referral from old couples. I mean, let’s face it – we have awesome clients who have awesome friends. So we automatically know they are going to be a good sort! Well Jo found us by looking at the wedding photos we had taken for her friends Jo & Joe. When she asked us to shoot her wedding at the fantastic Crow Hill in Marsden, how could I say no to having another Jo?

Jo & Mark’s wedding started and ended with the most gorgeous weather and beautiful countryside backdrop. Jo got ready with her sister and friends upstairs in the Crow Hill Manor House. I absolutely loved the proportions of the room with its giant bay window and oversized mirrors. The ladies had so much fun in the morning – I am pretty certain they win an award for the most excited squealing. I loved the lavender bridesmaids dresses with all of their fantastic beaded detailing. It is so hard to find a dress that looks so fantastic on everybody and at the same time can be worn again without looking like a bridesmaid dress – but they totally nailed it.

The ceremony was held downstairs in the main house and it was super emotional. I have to admit to tearing up a little when I saw Jo’s sister watch her get married. The bond of sisters is so special and it was so obvious that Jo’s sister felt so happy for her.

We took the couples portraits on the grounds at Crow Hill which is beautifully tucked into the Peak District. They had great little nooks where we were able to get some fantastic shots with a bit of the hills in the distance. I have to say I am a fan of big, rusty arbours left to settle back into nature. They always create the best framing.

The meal and reception were held in the marquee to the side of the house. I loved the fact that the marquee entrance was covered over in hedges and trees giving it a “secret den” feel. The speeches were so lovely and emotional – with a few tears and quite a few big laughs.

In the evening after the first dance I love that they brought out Jo’s grandma for a special dance on the dance floor. She seriously had all the moves and was loving every second of it.

Congratulations Jo & Mark – You two had a fabulous day!
