The Aussie online tech retailer Dick Smith (something like Dixons in the UK) abruptly offered its New Zealand internet shoppers a large price reduction when its website faced glitch and authorised sales for nothing.
Excited shoppers yesterday claimed their success via Twitter, with one getting a 27inch iMac at no cost but incurred NZ$4.95 for shipment.
Dick Smith’s New Zealand website has experienced bugs lately however the firm has yet to disclose exactly what triggered the error.
“There was actually a website problem today having a pricing fault on the Dick Smith New Zealand website,” a company spokesperson told the press.
The company had taken the website down to fix the bug “to increase your shopping experience” for some hours.
The company advised shoppers last night on Twitter that “for orders placed we will be in contact with you to confirm cancellation or whether you would like the items at their correct pricing”.
Nonetheless many shoppers are revealing that Dick Smith will offer customers a 10% price reduction on the actual cost of the products.
