After the relief from the harsh weather of the season till Holi, now once again be ready for unseasonal rains and hail.
Rain and hail are expected to fall in many states including Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, besides the capital Delhi and its surrounding areas from 12 to 15 March.
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for several states of North India. A western disturbance towards Afghanistan has resulted in fresh snowfall in the hill states including Himachal Pradesh and its effect will be seen in the plains.

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Western Madhya Pradesh, while yellow alert is being issued in other parts.
Light rain has started at some places in Delhi-NCR North Odisha, Jharkhand and East Uttar Pradesh on the evening of March 11 and may continue in the coming days. From March 12, rains will continue in Odisha and Jharkhand.
On March 13 and 14, light to moderate rains are likely at many places in eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha. It is estimated that hailstorm may also fall in some places along with stormy rain.
In Chhattisgarh and East Madhya Pradesh in Central India, once again rain may start in East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh which will continue till March 13. On March 15, there may be rains again in North Chhattisgarh.
