Chandigarh: The farmer who blocked the road in Punjab leads to the convoy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday and caused the main security fear, said they did not know that he would just pass. Despite being informed by the police after they started their road barrier, they said they did not believe them. PM Modi, they said, should only “send someone and ask us to move”.
“We thought the police were trying to remove us from the road. There was a helipad built for PM aside so why did he come on the road? The police tried to cheat us, we thought,” said Baldev Zira, one) protesters, stood on zero land on the road Raya Moga-Ferozepur.

Yesterday, while on the way to overcome the political rally in Ferozepur, PM Modi was stuck on the flyover in Punjab’s Bathinda for about 20 minutes. Then the security hose has caused a major political fire between the BJP and the country’s ruling Congress and the issue reached the Supreme Court today. The Punjab government has ordered an investigation into it.

Led by the Fraction of Bharatiya Kisan Union, the farmers said they were originally on their way to the office of Deputy Ferozepur to protest. But they were stopped by the police because of the PM rally.

The farmers then blocked the road, stopped the BJP leaders and buses carrying party supporters.

“We don’t know when PM will come this way. When the police told us, about 20 minutes after we sat on the road, we did not believe them,” Zira said, who is also a member. Bku Krantikari farmer union.

He added that they did not even know that the prime minister had come, only a few hundred meters away and had to return after finding a blocked path.

“When we were on my way back, around 3:30 p.m., some people told us,” he said. “It is possible that even the police did not have previous information, or they would not allow us here. They did not allow us to protest near the land,” he added.

Asked about the Cavalcade Prime Minister who was stuck on the flyover, Zira said PM Modi “could send someone and ask us to move”.

Asked about the worries of safety there for the prime minister, he said it was impossible.

“This is not an atmosphere like that. This is a peaceful place. Unlike other countries. Prime Minister drives 120-130 km to this place,” he said.

BJP has accused that the government’s disbandment of the State Congress, the State Police and Farmers in what they call endanger the prime minister and place it in a “path of danger”.

According to the Ani news agency, even PM Modi told Bhatinda airport officials: “Apne CM KO, Thank you, Ki Mein Bhatinda Airport Tak Zinda Sea Paaya (Thank you to the Minister of your chairman who can make him live to Bathinda Airport).”

President of RAM Nath Kovind met PM Modi today and received the first account of the incident and expressed concern over the security hose.

Tomorrow, the Supreme Court will hear the petition which argues that the Secretary of the Head of Punjab and the Director General of Police must be responsible for security violations and suspended.
