We Interrupt Your Regular Sarcastic, Tongue-in-cheek Ramb...

We interrupt your regular sarcastic, tongue-in-cheek ramblings for a more serious post.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and for the first time, the Children's Cancer Institue of Australia has approached blogger's to help spread the word about their Spring Appeal
The CCIA is Australia's only independent medical research institute that is devoted solely to childhood cancer research, and they're trying to raise $100,000 for vital new research programs.
I know we're in the midst of tough economic times (the News tells me so every single night), and my family, like most others, is feeling it.
But - to put this fundraising request into perspective - in the scheme of what we, as a nation, collectively spend on flat white's, latte's (and Macca's takeaway in my case...oh ok, and wine) and other such incidentals each month - this really isn't a huge amount of money to be asking for.
It should be so easily attainable.

Childhood cancer is an issue extremely close to my own extended family.  As far as I'm concerned, there's no organisation more worthy of the charity and fundraising dollars that I can afford.
There is nothing on this earth worse than watching a child suffer.  And Australia is at the forefront of some seriously cutting edge research to try and help prevent, cure, and treat a number of forms of childhood cancer.  Seriously, we totally rock on the research front.
$100,000 is not a lot, in the scheme of things.  And it's only the tip of what they could really use.  But this is the sum they are targetting, so if you are able to help out - every single dollar counts.  Please, click on any of the links in this post and donate.
I have donated my month's worth of wine and McDonalds spending.
On a totally and completely unrelated note, best not approach if you see me in public - I may be seriously suffering from Macca's flat white and cask wine withdrawals.  But it's 100% worth it.
Also, if they don't reach their target, I am not above auctioning off my worldly goods.  I'm starting with the cat, and then #1 Hubby if Carlton get any further in the AFL football finals, because I don't think I can take it any longer.
Actually, there's really no limit to what I'd do for a cause like this.  So consider yourselves warned.
$100k by the end of September.  Totally do-able.
Also, they're completely up with social media, so feel free to show your support on Facebook and Twitter
