We Have Arrived

By Saltykisses @svprili

It took the boys 4.5 days from Newport RI to Bermuda and 6.5 days from Bermuda to St Thomas USVI. The kids and I flew down last Sunday and they arrived about an hour before we landed, perfect timing! Only Carl was 5 minutes late to the airport and we already got a taxi. Bugga.

Of course Carl didn’t take any pictures of the trip so I’ll have to wait for Quinn and Peter to send me their pictures – those will posted when I get them.

So we have ARRIVED! We left 29F (-2C) degree Boston to a 90F (32C) degree boat. Hooly dooly were we sweating! I slept in a star position all night moaning about wanting air-conditioning. It only took a few hours after landing for me and the kids to get heat rashes, oh boy was it an adjustment. Now we are on our 2nd day here and had a fun packed beach day. Rashes have been replaced by bug bites.

ked winter to the curb and embraced the sand we’re finding in weird places.

Above: we may have reached the weight limit for the kayak

Above: our little man gets into soo much mischief now

Above: dinner time with our wonderful crew. Thanks Peter and Quinn (and Wayne who left us in Bermuda) for all the help.

Above: motor vibrations, what vibrations? Looks like Carl ran the boat through a volley ball court.

Above: the heat was getting to us all. It was a rough day.   Should be some fun times ahead in the Caribbean. We’ll be spending a few months down here then making our way back north through the Bahamas back up to New England. We are enjoying the heat knowing that we might be missing the next two summers.
