We Don't Do #BlueMonday at The Daily Constitutional

By Lwblog @londonwalks

So how did Blue Monday work out for you?

(Blue Monday, for those of you unaware of the concept, is the so-called unhappiest day of the year, calculated, I'm told, on the say-so of some marketing cabal that was trying to work out the best time to fleece us on booking a holiday. It falls on the 3rd Monday of January.)

Here's David's take on it via Twitter:

Also quotable: "Blue Monday's the day you realise you didn't really want or need all those crappy things you bought on Black Friday"

And here was my own solution: go for a walk. (That's always my solution. I like to call it Managed Flight.)

Starting at Embankment Station, with my right shoulder to the Thames... 12 miles later I was in Canning Town.

And here's just one of the sights that gladdened my heart and banished the blues...
