Hello everyone, I hope all is well with you. I’m back today after a week of working and writing. It’s been a busy week. I’m working on the sequel to my first story that I just finished. We shall see where these stories go, but enough about that. Today, I want to talk about handling stress in our uncertain world.

Today’s political climate is more stressful than ever. We don’t know which side of the fence is telling the truth. Social media plays a significant role in igniting emotional outbursts with memes and political statements that may or may not be true. Who knows, right?

This creates conflict with people who were once considered friends. I’m limiting my time on social media and staying away from the news. I refuse to let this political angst into my life. My husband does that enough for both of us. 😉

To avoid all of this, I’m focusing on a few things that have nothing to do with politics, and I thought I’d share them with you, so you too could have a little peace in this tumultuous environment.

  1. I’m focusing on my health. That’s right I’m making sure I’m getting enough sleep, exercise, and healthy food.
  2. I’m focusing on my family and their health too.
  3. I’m paying attention to my spiritual health as well. That means getting out into nature instead of sitting in front of the TV.
  4. I’m focusing on my personal goals, like my writing and my creative pursuits.
  5. I’m planning on decluttering my home. This one may take a long time because I’m sure there will be many breaks between bouts of decluttering.
  6. I’m focusing on stress management. That’s right when I’m stressed out I’m going to read for pleasure or paint or write. If I’m really stressed I’ll go for a run or a hike.

This is just a small list of things we can do to avoid the political quagmire that has become our world. What’s on your list? Leave a comment! I’d love to hear from you!
