Watercolor Castle

By Kathybarbro @KathyBarbro
Here’s a simple way to draw and paint a colorful castle. Students can finish it off with a fairy tale theme, or go midievil with moats, draw bridges and more.
1. Start the drawing with the left and right turret. Add the front facade between them as shown. Add the center tower above and finish off with a few flags.
2. Trace the drawing with a black permanent marker.
3. Add details, such as brick and door lines with a crayon. Use a light color and press hard to leave a very waxy line.
4. Paint over all with liquid watercolor paint. My sample is painted with Dick Blick Purple, Fuschia, Green, Blue and Black liquid watercolor paints.
