New York’s Walking Shapes have masterfully captured the painful dissolution of a relationship in their new video for “Keep” in which Nathaniel Hoho, the band’s lead singer, acts as the person still hanging on, frustrated and screaming for answers. Their eye gaze, body language, and the colors all work towards a highly relatable, achingly beautiful and intimate portrayal of the agony wreaked by indifference and a slow burning disintegration of what once was. If you’re as taken and intrigued as I was by the video, you’ll want to check out the behind-the-scenes exclusive clip that the band has decided to release today via The Wild Honey Pie. Check it above and download Walking Shapes’ entire new LP, Mixtapes (Vol. 1), which features “Keep” and a lots more, for the outrageous price of free over at the band’s website.
Video shot by Eamon O’Rourke and produced by Luisa Conlon and actor Ezra Miller (The Perks of Being A Wallflower, We Need To Talk About Kevin)
