Watch Ryder Destroy A Truck. And Re-build It.

Posted on the 21 September 2015 by Ryderexchange

Ryder recently unveiled a maintenance challenge to highlight the skills of our 5,000 plus technicians. What was the challenge? We destroyed a new truck and challenged a select team of technicians to re-build it in less than 24 hours.

Nicknamed “Project Rebirth” the truck was put through a gauntlet of destruction, inspired by thrilling action movies, and ended with the final blow of a two ton wrecking ball. After the truck was destroyed, it was taken to a Ryder service facility in Atlanta, GA, where a team of 10 technicians was put to work to fix it.

Watch the destruction and see what happened next in the video below:

Ryder knows that if a company is going to outsource its fleet maintenance operations, it has to have the utmost confidence in that partner. “While the kind of destruction shown in this video is extreme, it’s not that far from some of the excessive damage that has come through our shops over the past 80 years,” says Dennis Cooke, President, Global Fleet Management Solutions for Ryder. “Showing our technician team in action in a high-stakes challenge like this is a great way to highlight the kind of talent our customers have access to every day at any one of our 800 maintenance shops across North America.”
