Coyotes aren’t traditionally adorable. In fact, anyone who grew up near them tend to associate their proximity with cat safety and scary sounds that echo through the night. Modest Mouse apparently doesn’t have some of these scarring memories, because their new video for the track “Coyote” does’t feature the animal eating your childhood cat, but being completely adorable and charming on an empty commuter train. Of course, it helps that the video is coupled with a lovely, soaring ballad. It’s enough to remind you that Modest Mouse truly are the senior statesmen of indie, and you shouldn’t blame coyotes for acting on their natural hunger for house cats.
