Watch: A Cameraman’s Close Encounter with a Burst of Lava

Adventure cameraman Bradley Ambrose was filming the Marum lava lake on the island of Ambrym when suddenly a huge burst of lave flew at him.

“That was probably my closest call ever to being completely covered in lava bombs,” said Ambrose.

Luckily he survived the nature’s attack. As Ambrose says, one hit would have toasted him for good as the temperature of the lapilli (lava ejections) was measured to be 600-800 degrees Celsius.
