Warrior Square is a public open space redesigned by Gillespies Landscape Architects which reopened to the public in 2011. it is located on the site of a neglected Victorian park which is situated at the edge of the shopping district of Southend-on-Sea. The square is rectangular in shape with its long edges facing north/ south and its short edges facing east/ west. Being located on the site of an existing park there were numerous existing trees on the site, the majority of which were located along the north and south edges. These have mostly been retained. The west elevation of the park has been opened up to Chichester Road and a paved ‘plaza’ has been located at this end. At the centre of the square is a level lawn space.
