But if you only take one walking tour this week, why not make it…
SHAKESPEARE IN LONDON
Sunday 11th September, 2.30pm meet at London Bridge Tube, Tooley Street Hill exit
Tour conducted by Lance Pierson
With all the talk of Brexit and the Olympics you might have forgotten that 2016 is the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare's passing.
Everyone knows he was born in Stratford-upon-Avon's, but all of the Bard's famous working life was spent in London. You can discover his city by following Lance Pierson on his Shakespeare in London walk this autumn.
See the places where Shakespeare lived, wrote and acted. At each stop Lance will read an extract from his work to further transport you. See the original site of the Globe Theatre and its sister the Blackfriars Theatre, two houses where he lived and the very spot where we believe Othello, King Lear and Macbeth were written.
You will also discover a wide array of memorials to the great man including the unusual one pictured above. Find out where it is and what it is on Sunday.
Meet Lance Sunday 11th September, 2.30pm at London Bridge Tube, Tooley Street Hill exit
