Waiting on Wednesday #9

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

It’s no secret to the people who have known me for a long time that I can’t swim. I’m a mean rower behind a kayak but leave me to my own limbs to navigate the waters, I’d as soon drown. That’s why I thought I’d pick this particular book by debut author Edward Hogan as some sort of reminder for myself to take up swimming (seriously!) next year. Haha. Let’s see if I won’t chicken out.

Release Date: February 2nd 2012
Format: Digital
Publisher: Walker Books Ltd

SUMMARY: This is a brilliant thriller ghost story by a new name in teenage fiction. When Daniel Lever is dragged to Leisure World Holiday Complex for some “time away” with his depressed dad, his expectations are low. Daniel is overweight, he hates sport, and his father has brought along his beloved tomato plant. But soon Daniel spots a girl swimming in the fake lake. Lexi is elegant and smart, but very mysterious. Why are her bruises getting worse each time she and Daniel meet? And is her watch really ticking backwards? A dark figure stalks the pair, and as British summer time approaches, Daniel has to act quickly. Their souls depend on it.

Ghosts. Swimming. Mystery. Swimming. What’s not to be excited about? What about you? What are you waiting on Wednesday?
