A photo pass by the Planes of Fame F4U Corsair during the 2018 Planes of Fame airshow. Post-war, this combat veteran Corsair was used as a Hollywood movie prop at the Twentieth Century Fox Studios until it was eventually acquired by Planes of Fame Air Museum in 1970. The inverted gull-wing, a design solution to accommodate the huge propeller diameter, made the Corsair one of the most distinctive fighters of World War II. First flown on May 29, 1940, it was the first single-engine fighter to exceed 400 mph in level flight.
