I am a Bollywood fan and like many others, I enjoy watching movies irrespective of how they fare at the box office. Around 80-90’s most the movies would show a black dog and that villains love to drink. I also recollect Holiday Inn Hotel of Mumbai and in 1995, I made it a point to visit holiday Inn to understand why our film industry is fascinated by hotel. Well I never got the answer, but that was then.
Last week when we got invite from Holiday Inn from aerocity to review their all day dinning Viva, it was more like Déjà vu! I was enthralled and this may sound dramatic\filmy, well, that’s the way I am.
Me and along with few fellow bloggers were greeted by their executive chef Pankaj and he explained the concept behind Viva – the all-day dining restaurant. His hotel is strategically located in the aerocity and is visible from NH8 too. Aerocity has come up in a big way and there are already hotels like JW Marriott that is doing great and in next couple of months, there will be more hotels operating soon!.
Viva the all-day dining restaurant, serves not only Indian cuisine but also continental and pan Asian. I loved their desert section and it was really impressive. They have great selection of salads and soups. We were five of us and we ate and tried lot of dishes. We had servings from buffer as well as chef’s recommendation from A-la-carte. The tenderloin steak was well made - medium rare (cooked so that the outside is browned and the inside is still partially red)and was excellent.
Potato mash and grilled beans too were perfect. Highlight of the day was, Thali. They have veg as well as Non veg Thali. According to them, Thali is the most preferred during lunch. I loved the dal and mutton rogan josh that was part of the Thalii along with other dishes too. We finished our marathon lunch with rasmalai and crème brulee.
If you are looking for relaxed lunch and some really good food, Viva is the place where you should head to Viva.
