Visiting Tim Hortons For the First Time

By Clari @clarisaysblog

Yes, I just visited Tim Hortons. I know they opened their first branch in the Philippines which is also the first in Southeast Asia at Uptown Place Mall in Bonifacio Global City on February 2017. But that's too far from me so I waited for them to open more branches.

Believe me, it was difficult because I kept hearing my friends, as well as my blogger friends, say good things about Tim Hortons. I even received a message from my one friend in Canada that I might want to check Tim Hortons out. She knows I love coffee and doughnuts. So she wanted me to try this snack called Timbits.

This is Tim Hortons' bite-sized fried-dough confectionery. She was 100% sure I will love it! Fast forward to 2019, I heard there was one branch near me but this mall has a difficult uphill parking space and lots of stairs. If you know me personally, you know I'll take my Abuelita with me. Since uphills and stairs don't agree well with the elderly, this branch was a big no for us.

Good thing they opened another one with a better parking area and easy access!

The Place

This Time Hortons branch is located at Eton Centris in Quezon Avenue. If you haven't been to Eton Centris, Tim Hortons is just upfront. So if you are coming from EDSA, you will see it right away.

Also, there are several parking spaces right in front so you don't need to park at the steel parking building located at the back.

Now for the actual place, this branch has a lovely space. It's clean, bright and well-ventilated. They also have a special place near the counter for senior citizens, PWD and pregnant women. Since I was with my abuelita, we chose to take a seat there. It's a lovely set up with enough space for each customer. My abuelita was comfortable so was my Ninong and me.

Now for the service. The staff were all nice and courteous including the guard. But I would like to send my special thanks to the guy who took my order. He was patient and helped me out 'cos I wasn't sure what to order.

Heck! The only thing I knew was to get a box of Timbits. Don't get me wrong. Tim Hortons has a simple menu. But when you're with an elderly, it can be confusing. And you know me, I want my abuelita to enjoy her experience. With his help, I was able to relay the info to my Abuelita and thus, enjoyed the food we ordered.

Food & Drinks

Since we were only there for a quick snack, we choose the following:

Flavoured Iced Coffee:
Caramel, Hazelnut & Vanilla (PHP 100/each - small)

Timbits (PHP 110 - 10 pieces)

Steak & Cheese Panini (PHP 160 - solo)

Not only are their iced coffees and other drinks affordable, but they are indeed flavourful. It was not watery and you can really tell the flavours apart. I'm also glad I didn't forget the Timbits!

Yes, Timbits are just like the little doughnuts we have here but the size, texture and taste of this one are different. It's more prominent and enjoyable. Lastly, the sandwich. That Steak & Cheese Panini is the best.

The steak was tender and the cheese was so good. It has a smooth and creamy texture that compliments the steak and the bread. You can get this solo or combo which includes a small iced coffee or iced tea and potato wedges. You can even upgrade to any other beverage.

The question now is, will we return. Yes, a hundred per cent! My abuelita wanted to try the other sandwiches and so do I. With this great experience, I can't help but question the reviews some of their customers left on Zomato. Other branches have high ratings but not the ones in Quezon City.

Let me tell you this. I will visit this branch again as well as the other one. I just want to see what the negative reviews were about, okay? Then I will update this post and create a separate review for the other branch.

Again, this Tim Hortons is located at Eton Centris, Quezon Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City.

Happy eating and coffee drinking!
