Last Friday was a busy day for me at Virginia Olsen’s headquarter! Beauty bloggers were invited for the unveiling of the brand’s 2013 collection which includes 5 new brushes and 10 new shades of eyeshadows. I’ll give a quick overview of these products…
The Angled Eye Contour brush (Php 350) is ideal for creating a “sideway v” to contour the outer corner of the lids.
The Short Shader Brush (Php 300) is perfect for on the spot small application of eyeshadow on your lids.
This Precision Pencil Brush (Php 300) is great for blending your eyeliner into eyeshadow for smokey eye looks.
This Flat Top Brush (Php 500) offers seamless and flawless coverage when applying foundation. The bristles are also super dense so it packs and applies the makeup product evenly.
And lastly, this Sculpting Brush (Php 450) which is my most favorite among the bunch! The bristles are also very dense, and the size is just the right one for adding definition to your facial structure. I can now fake a chiseled and well-defined cheeks and jawline because of this, heehee! I don’t think other brands have a sculpting brush like this yet.
Anyway, the 5 pc brush set is sold for only Php 1500! For a vegan, cruelty-free and eco-friendly brushes that are made from synthetic Japanese-grade Taklon bristles (read: super duper soft), the price is such a steal! It’s already available here in the Philippines and for limited stocks only so you girls better grab these brushes already! The previous collection which consists of 7 brushes are also highly recommended. I have mine for several months already and VO brushes really don’t bleed or shed, trust me!
Moving on, Virginia Olsen will also release 10 new eyeshadows this year (around May/June). Six mattes (Forest, Ibiza, Puppy Love, Prom NIght, Pumpkin and Spring) and four shimmery ones (Midnight Glam, Lilac Lust, Sparkling Jade and Sphinx)! I will show swatches once they’re available here in the Philippines.
Currently there are 49 shades available in the old collection. Highly pigmented and long-lasting, these US made mineral eyeshadows are sold for only Php 150/each. Best part is there’s no expiration for these little cuties because they’re made from 100% pure mineral ingredients.
More photos from the launch…
These lovely bloggers enjoyed swatching and taking photos of VO products! :)
An afternoon full of makeup talks and kakikayan. My kind of day. Haha :P
What’s a bloggers event without group pictures, right? HAHA! Back row: Mich, Sabs, Ms Jirbie (VO’s Marketing Manager), and Bing. Front row: Gem, Mhisha, Jen, Me, and Dawn. Too bad Donnarence has to leave early so she’s not in this group pic anymore, boohoo!
L-R: Joyce, Celline, Me, Sam, Eyah, Aya and Kath.
It was great seeing everyone again! Till the next product launch, ladies!
Ohh, and before I end this post.. I would like to share that VO has a new brand ambassadress… none other than professional makeup artist and beauty blogger/vlogger Sabs Hernandez of the Musings of a Makeup Maven!
