The first ever YouTube Music Awards event went live just a few hours ago and ended leaving viewers disgusted by its’ poor organization, annoyance of the host and disappointing selection of artists. However, the show was creative and unique in its’ own way as it targeted young audience by giving new, upcoming artists more exposure in more events.

Winners list -

  • Breakthrough of the Year - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
  • Response of the Year -  Lindsey Stirling and Pentatonix, “Radioactive”
  • Innovation of the Year - DeStorm, “See Me Standing”
  • YouTube Phenomenon - “I Knew You Were Trouble”
  • Video of the Year -  Girls’ Generation “I Got A Boy”
  • Artist of the Year - Eminem

Most of the viewers were disappointed in the overall show. Some called it “ a horrible mess.” Tech Crunch said it’s ”chaos you’ll never see on TV.” Without doubt the show must have been arranged and organized by an amateur and from the looks of the stage and other decoration it seems like Google had nothing to do with it after all.

Since this is YouTube’s first ever music awards show, we could give them a chance to grow and hope they will learn from the mistakes. At least get a good host for the next show.
