Lisbon is a beautiful capital, famous for its tiled buildings and sidewalks. However, one of its suburbs is just as beautiful and a tourist destination in its own right: Sintra.
Lying on the coast near the Sintra Mountains and Sintra-Cascais Nature Park, its easy to understand why it’s a popular tourist destination. Walking through the town it’s hard to miss the Gothic, Moorish and Renaissance elements in its architecture and the fabulously landscaped gardens everywhere. However, Sintra has more than that going for it: An 8th-9th century Moorish castle overlooks the town, the colorful Pena National Palace stands nearby and the Sintra National Palace is in the middle of the city.
We fell in love with Sintra, so much so that we’d love to live there if we ever have a chance to live in Portugal. After you watch our video, maybe you’ll feel the same. Please let us know what you think.
