This connection as well as continued involvement with International Fund With Animal Welfare (IFAW) inspired Kristin to want to do more than simply lend her voice to this cause. In collaboration with IFAW, the actress plans to take a film crew to Africa for a documentary called Out for Africa about ivory poaching. The documentary will interview people on the ground who are working to combat the problem on a daily basis and shed a light on just how much it has affected animals in Africa.
But Kristin can’t do it alone which is why she has launched a Kickstarter project to fund the documentary with lots of fun incentives thanks to the cast of True Blood. There are signed EW magazine covers from cast members, phone calls, Skype chats, google hangouts, posters, wrap gifts, and memorabilia waiting for those of you who decide to back the project! As of this post over $5,000 has already been pledged with a goal of $30,000 by August 19th. You can pledge your donation by going here.
