Venuli Senari Jayasinghe made a two-setter game to beat Annaya Norbet (6/3, 6/1) in the girls’ second round of the ATF Under 14 Junior Tennis tournament which was played at the SLTA courts yesterday.
In the boys’ second-round games, Om Verma of India outclassed Sri Lanka’s Minhas Muthuthanthri (6/2, 6/0) while Methika Wickrmasinghe defeated Rehan Gunawardena (7/5, 6/2) in their second-round game. Louis Knese of Germany made an easy two-set victory over Sri Lanka’s Kavinda Jayamanne 6/0, 6/0. Aahil Kaleel beat Kenul Ratnayake with a three-setter game 6/2, 4/6, and 6/2 while Jayin De Saram made two sets deficit to beat Bhishman Balaratnarajah 6/1, 6/1 to enter the pre-quarter-finals. (D.R)
