SUPPER HERO
An actually accessible underground dinner

Hello, new friends.

Let’s discuss underground dinners--those illusive little creatures that are almost too cool for their own good. You’ve read about ’em, heard your coworkers brag about ’em but have never actually managed to snag seats at ’em. Don’t worry; we hadn’t either.
That is, until we found Suite ThreeOhSix, a supper club where you’ll always know where to go and (mostly) what to expect.
It has all the intimate atmosphere of the others (a 16-seat communal table topped with loads of candlelight) but none of the location secrecy (it’s in the same dedicated Tribeca loft each time). Dinners are typically every Friday and cost anywhere from $59 to $79, depending on the number of courses. But it’s the menus that are the surprise. (For a general idea, peek at past ones.)
All you really need to know, though, is that the spotlight is on vegetables--in fact, it’s all vegan. But owner Daphne Cheng and her team of chefs largely eschew seitan and tofu, opting instead for local, seasonal produce.
If you have the pleasure of trying the truffle, cashew and almond ricotta with smoked agave, as we did, you’ll be the one who’s bragging.
