Vanilla Inking

By Jollygoodstudio @JollyGoodStudio
In my efforts for a handmade / indie Christmas I signed up for the Vanilla Ink 'Make your own Xmas Presents' evening class. For the few Mondays I've been heading along to try and improve my metalwork skills and make some pretty presents for my nearest and dearest. The first week we got to make a little silver ring to try out some basic jewelry making techniques. Here's my effort:

It may look simple but, considering it started off as a straight piece of wire, I'm pretty pleased with my ring shaped outcome. And I even used the scary spiky machine (technical term) to give it that nice satinised finish. The ring does fit but is rather snug on my little sausage fingers so I've taken to wearing it as an above the knuckle accessory.
