Valentine's Day...
The perfect occasion to break out your crafting supplies...

I have to admit...I don't go in for Valentine's Day. It just does nothing for me...usually.
But this year is different. I don't know if it's because Christmas came so quickly that I didn't feel like I had time to soak it all in...or if it's because I've been seriously bitten by the crafting bug...or if it's because it's so darn cold and dark and I just need something to brighten up the house a bit...but this year I'm super-excited for Valentine's Day...
So, in honor of this day of all things pink & red...I made some tags to accompany the small gifts the kids will give their teachers...

I started with the coolest sheets of wood veneer...from ARC Crafts. I simply cut these down to 3"x4" (the perfect size to tuck into your Albums Made Easy!), and rounded the corners.
Next, I added some little cards I bought at Typo...I adore these little guys and I'm so glad I found a place to use some of them!
I used my Lifestyle Letterpress tools and hot pink Letterpress Ink to create the letters "LOVE" and the "love" circle badge...and the plates themselves came from Studio Calico. The really neat thing about the "LOVE" letters is that the entire alphabet also comes with little wafer-thin dies so that after you run them through the letterpress, you can cut them with your die-cutter.
I used my waterbrush & Color Shine in Mustard to "color in" one set of letters...I love the uneven, watercolor effect...

The little polka banners are probably my favorite part of the tags. I cut these using Shape 'N Tape from Lifestyle Crafts...have you heard of this stuff? It's so awesome...it's like a big sheet of washi tape that you can cut with your dies on a die-cutting machine! What?!?! So awesome. I used a little banner die to cut these babies and I then I simply taped them to my tags...so perfect.
Feel like trying your hand at Letterpress? Or maybe some of that awesome Shape 'N Tape? Don't forget that you can get 20% off your ENTIRE purchase of We R Memory Keepers and Lifestyle Crafts items (even sale items!) on the We R site using the code MIDWESTERN at checkout...saving money is the coolest.
What are you crafting up for V-Day? I'd love to hear...
