Valentine's Day Planner

Valentine's Day ideasIf you're anything like me, you need someone to spell out what the expectations are very certain events. And if you're also like me, you don't consider the day before last minute. You don't even consider the day of last minute. You're just doing things as they come and the day of...well...it's here and now it's time to get 'er done. Thing is, you still want to do a good job and show people that you care so you race against the clock doing a meticulous job with what little you have and you tell yourself "I'm just doing the best I can." Because you really are.
So, I have spelled it out for you.
Here's how Valentine's Day will go. Because I'm assuming you have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ELSE TO DO. Right? No? Ok, pick and choose or just write a nice letter and print it off. Thing is, that's still great.
  1. You've gotten some honeycomb diamonds in your party stash maybe? Turn it into a heart once everyone has gone to bed. I LOVE surprises and love nothing more than to wake up to something festive. It creates a magic in the air. Hopefully your local party supply has a stash of these. Honeycomb heart installation by Melanie from You Are My Fave for Julep
  2. Breakfast in bed with conversation heart donuts. Because everyone loves donuts and love. By Kelly of Studio DIY
  3. Arrow and heart oversized balloons. Again, I like me a surprise. Put this outside the door right before everyone leaves. You know you'll get a few squeals. Heart balloons by Kelly of Studio DIY.
  4. Remember those neighbors or school kids who NEED a Valentine? There is no time to make something crazy from Pinterest but there IS time to print something off and fold them. Origami hearts from You are my fave
  5. Again, there's not time to get fancy so print off these floral/French Valentines to your loved ones. Printable valentines on Camille Styles
  6. WAIT! You need to wrap the gift you got! Do it fast and with simple paint and X's and O's. XOXO gift wrap from Sugar and Cloth
  7. We all know flowers are expected. But don't try and order from someone fancy. There's no time. Pick up some roses from the grocery store and put each one in a different vase.
  8. Guys. I'm NOT a cook. I would NEVER attempt this, but I would think about doing it until I realized I would NEVER do this. Look how yummy and color appropriate it is. Sigh. Ricotta and Sage filled beat ravioli from Sunday Suppers.
  9. I wouldn't even attempt this although in some alternate universe maybe. Ashley's dark chocolate pot de cremes. MmmmmmMMMMMMmmmmm. From Sugar and Cloth.
I once had a friend tell me that instead of being disappointed in her expectations not being met for a birthday or other meaningful holiday, she made sure to tell her husband in advance what she wanted. I have a hard time doing this (because can't they read our minds?!?!) but please pass this onto your significant other for some ideas. Clearly, not all of them (unless he's really needing to score some points).
