With the release of their stellar new album, Relief, last month, Vacationer are poised to completely overtake your summer — their dreamy, lightly, funky and tripped-out pop sound is addictive, mirroring the musicianship of Animal Collective and Vampire Weekend, but with a flair all their own. Along with their recordings, they put on one hell of a live show. The band brings a cool, laid-back vibe with their music that has a nice touch of tropical flair.
I was lucky enough to catch their set at Rough Trade, and was completely blown away. After peering down at the sizable set list jotted in front of Kenny Vasoli’s array of guitar pedals, I knew that everyone at the venue was in for a great night of music. Vasoli and his band played an outstanding show and delivered a generous helping of material from their newest album. Their music is definitely something that’s best experienced in a live setting.
