Gone are those days where you'll have to make your favicon image 16×16 pixels and save it as .ico extension.

Some few years back, many bloggers find it hard to change the default favicon of their blog theme to their owner personal favicon because the process of doing so feels hard or troublesome... especially for those bloggers who don't know much about coding.

But now, the WordPress 4.3 have made it easy for every WordPress users to add their favorite icons (favicon) with just the simple image upload button.

How to add Favicon to your blog the easy way

In case you don't know what a favicon is; Favicon (short for favorite icon) is that little image (logo) that appears at the left corner of your address bar when you entered a site and also the icon that display beside a site when you bookmark it.

In other words, a favicon or a favorite icon, is an icon associated with a URL that is variously displayed, as in a browser's address bar or next to the site name in a bookmark list.

Trust me, I have seen many bloggers who are still using the default favicon of their blog's theme, especially bloggers who use the Genesis theme... believe it or not, that's bad for your branding and professionalism.

Without wasting much of our time, let's move on to the show and show you how to carry out this simple tip

Using your Blog Logo as Favicon to Boost Your Brand

Getting the right image to use as your favicon is the best way to go about this... I'll suggest you use your blog logo for better personalization.

By now, you must have gotten the image you want to use, if yes, go to your WordPress Dashboard and click on " Appearance" >>> click on " Customize " to take you to the customizing area of your blog.

Now click on " Site Identity" >>> Scroll down to " Site Icon " and click upload >>> search for the image you want to use for the favicon, click the image and click open to upload your logo or image you want to use as your favicon.

Note: The image you want to use as your favicon must be 512×512 pixels (as recommended by WordPress)

After the upload is completed, click the " Save " button located above the editor to save your work.

Now empty your blog cache, refresh your browser and you will see your new favicon.
