So it turns out that the OM megaload did not leave the Port of Umatilla last Sunday night after all.
That’s great news for the opposition, as it gave the media time to cover the story AND it pushes their travel over the mountains back further and further into December.
Mad props go to Warm Springs Tribal activist Kayla Godowa; she is ON FIRE defending her land.
News outlets across the country picked up the story:
From the World News to the York (SC) Enquirer Herald, from the Sacramento Bee to the Missoulian, the Great Falls Tribune and the Spokane Spokesman-Review—all have picked up the AP story and run with it.
Huh. So it seems after the Nez Perce made national headlines last September with their successful bid to stop Omega Morgan from traveling on Highway 12 through Idaho, Indians opposing tar sands megaloads makes for big news.
Who would’ve seen THAT coming? Not Omega-Morgan, apparently.
