Up, up and Away with Kipling!

Although it feels like I’ve just returned from my whirlwind weekend in Marseille and a staycation in London earlier this week, it’s already time to pack my suitcase again and head off to Copenhagen for a joint belated birthday and graduation trip with my sister!
I would describe myself as a complete and utter homebody. I work from home and that works brilliantly for me: these past few weeks have meant many trips into London for meetings and hanging out with pals, which in turn means that my introvert pot has been utterly drained. It often waits until I’m safely encased in my bedroom to greet me but also comes to grab me when I’m on my train home; blissful sleepiness washes over me and I feel completely drained. I suppose it’s tough to explain really, without it sounding rude and ungrateful for time spent with lovely others.
Something that I find helps to lift me up is travel. I absolutely love to travel and find it oddly cathartic to hop on a plane and fly up, up and away from the mundane realities of everyday and away from the commitments that keep me so grounded. I mean that with every frivolous fiber I can muster. I really love the romance of running away, if only for a temporary moment.

Things to pack for a city break runaway:

+ little Bardot tops in abundance
+ airy-fairy plisse pleat culottes
+ white trainers
+ ridiculously all-weather proof Majolica Majorca mascara
+ my faithful tan sandals
+ 1x super fashun duster jacket that will never be worn
+ SPF50
+ more eyeshadows than you could shake a stick at
+ more gingham than on Little House on the Prairie and The Sound of Music combined
+ a passport than is hopeful and still notes the EU
The Kipling Super Hybrid S suitcase is my newest travel companion - the soft shell hybrid design combines all of the adaptability and lightweight feel of my beloved Kipling Teagan XS suitcase (the orange striped one) that came with me to Hong Kong, Malaysia, Seoul, Budapest and Marseille and the sturdiness of a more classic suitcase with a hard shell bottom. From the padded handle to the zipped divider and handy mesh compartments, this is every everyday girl's dream travel companion. Plus, it’s a four-wheel drive!! No more tripping over my own feet in several airports across the globe!
