Un Tuffo Nell’arte Contemporanea. A Jump in the Contemporary Art. Fondazione Prada, Milano

Erano mesi che volevo andarci ed alla fine ce l'ho fatta.

Destinazione Fondazione Prada. Insomma mi incuriosiva una struttura nuova, in una zona in recupero e rinascita che avesse un noto marchio della moda e che raggruppasse arte.
Come minimo desta curiosità! I compagni di questa avventura urbana non potevano che essere i miei genitori: amanti dell'arte ed esploratori dentro.

I have wanted to go in a particular location for many months and- at last I did it . Destination Fondazione Prada . So I was curious about a new structure in an area to be saved sponsored by a famous fashion brand also focused on art. I was very curious. My companions in this urban adventure have been my parents- buff of art and they are explorers inside.

Una meta da non perdere. Vi assicuro che non ha scontentato le aspettative, anzi!
La sola struttura è una ex area industriale recuperata. Il lavoro è stato fatto con grande maestria ed ha acquistato un fascino incredibile. Quindi immaginate una struttura rinata e che diventa un polo culturale. Immaginatevi spazi ampi anche all'aperto dove sedersi e parlare. Immaginatevi un ritmo più lento e tante mostre d'arte.

A destination to be visited . Believe me, a nice experience ! The architectonical structure is a former industrial building saved . The work was done with great skill and it is now very charming. Imagine a renewed structure that becomes a cultural center . Imagine some nice outdoors space where you can sit and talk. Imagine a location where the rhythm is slow and there are many art exhibitions.

Le mostre sono di arte contemporanea, anche se non risultano comprensibili subito, vengono spiegate dal personale di sala molto preparato sui i significati a volte nascosti. Interessantissimo!

Credete che senza spiegazione le opere di Robert Gober nella sezione chiamata la casa degli spiriiti, sarebbe incomprensibile?

Prendete per esempio la sua opera "La nascita". Senza spiegazione è del tutto incomprensibile: ma adesso vi svelo il segreto. Il blocco di cera è il nuovo nato. Le mele hanno un bollino con su 4 kili e notoriamente una mela non pesa 4 kili: questo dimostra il peso che già da piccoli la vita porta. La culla non è stabile, ma con la parte bassa un po' sconnessa....già dalla culla non si è sicuri. Sì certo non è un significato estremamente positivo però.....l'arte è arte.

There are some contemporary art exhibits, even if this art can not be understood immediately , the staff is very informed about every artwork to explain the hidden meanings. Very interesting!
You cannot understand the Robert Gober's artwork without any explanations. Take for example his work "the birth". Without an explanation it is completely incomprehensible, but now I reveal you the secret meaning. The wax block is the new born. All the apples have a sticker with the info that they are over 4 pounds. Notoriously an apple doesn't weigh 4 kg. This shows the weight that already the new born has in the first part of his life. The cradle is not stable - its bottom is unstable... .all around is not sure even from the beginning. Yes it is not a very positive meaning but ... ..art is art.

Ci sono un paio di installazione che adoro in questa fondazione .

Progetto grottesco è spettacolare. Pensate che l'artista ha ricostruito, informandosi per anni ed anni, una vera e propria grotta con dei cartoni. Il risultato finale è da togliere il fiato. Il modellino, grande come una piccola nostra stanza, riproduce fedelmente la grotta. Sapete perché costruì questa installazione? Per fotografarla e dimostrare che in realtà per quanto simile alla realtà resta un prodotto dell'uomo.

There are a couple of the installations that I love in this foundation . Grotesque project is spectacular . Now think to this artist. He has built, inquiring for years and years , a real cave with the cartons . The end result is breathtaking . The model , as big as a small our room, faithfully reproduce a cave . Why he built this installation ? Just to photograph and show that actually as similar to reality remains a product made by a man.

Un'altra installazione che amo particolarmente è quella di After the beginning before the end . Praticamente si entra in una sala dove vi sono 7 tavoli industriali e sopra appoggiati dei rotoli di carta. Su ogni tavolo sono stati disegnati a biro delle figure emblematiche per il genere umano. Appoggiati oggetti d'arte e non solo che rappresentano in tridimensionale i vari passaggi dell'umanità. Sull'ultimo tavolo una serie di bracci meccanici continuano, senza sorta di continuazione, a disegnare: perché l'umanità non si ferma, continua.

Another installation that I particularly like is the one titled "After the beginning before the end". Basically you get into a room where there are 7 industrial tables. Leaning over them there are some paper rolls. On each table they were drawn by pen some emblematic figures for the humanity. Then you can find some objects that are more symbols than objects - they represent the various steps of the humanity. On the last table a series of mechanical arms continue. This is because the humanity does not stop, but it continues.

Insomma fondazione Prada è un luogo da scoprire, ma anche da gustare perché con le sue architetture tra un passato recente e la sua arte che tende al futuro è sicuramente un luogo unico.

In short, fondazione Prada is a place to discover but also to enjoy it with its architecture from the recent past and its art which tends to the future is definitely a unique place.
