UK Towns and Cities Fracking Will Impact Most

Despite claiming in 2012 he was committed to renewable energy, David Cameron’s Government seem determined to push through fracking in the UK.

With widespread public concern about its impact on the environment, fracking is hugely controversial and only extends our reliance on fossil fuels at a time when we should be investing in renewable energy.

Whilst much of the attention has been on the villages that will be impacted by fracking sites, towns and cities will also be affected. Indeed, 60% of the UK has the potential to be ‘fracked’.

Below is a graphic that shows towns and cities most likely to be impacted through nearby sites that have been drilled, approved or are under consideration.
