Uber will start shipping prescriptions in Dallas, Austin and Houston, Texas, CNET announced on Thursday. The service will be available in the Uber Eats app, connecting users of the ride-sharing center to independent, local pharmacies for delivery.

Users in the participating cities have access to on-demand delivery of prescriptions, where they can easily transfer existing prescriptions and fulfill new ones. With this service, customers can track their prescriptions from the pharmacy to their home.

"At Uber, we know it's more important than ever to have prescription products at your fingertips, and we're working hard to make Uber Eats a destination for more household needs," said Stephanie Ficaja, director of Uber Eats in an email publication.

Uber plans to expand its prescription delivery services to other states in the future.
