Very little makes us more excited than the idea of new songs from the artists that helped create the music guzzling nerds we are today. Two Tongues is Max Bemis, the man behind Say Anything, and Chris Conley of Saves the Day – and from that perfect pairing comes the kind of punk-tinged rock that has soundtracked your dreams for so long. Their newest track ‘Truly’ starts off with a burst of energy that never ceases. It’s full of fuzzy guitars, screaming choruses and the kind of emotionally resonant lyrics Bemis and Conley have been trafficking in for years. Of the track Bemis says:
“Two Tongues songs usually starts out with either Chris or me and then go through extensive co-writing and development to become what they’re meant to be. Music and lyrics become a true collaboration. Truly is my favorite contribution to this record. I think that’s because it so clearly is derived from my love for Saves the Day. Lyrically, it also encapsulates the allure of a doomed but romantic tryst, which is not only the source of this record’s narrative but something that’s always fun to sing about even if you’re happily married with children. Everyone’s been there.“
