Foreshore Police have arrested two persons who had stolen equipment valued over Rs.500,000 which had been brought for the construction of the new access road on Wednesday (31). The two suspects, who are employees of the project constructing the Harbour Access Road are residents of the Medawachchiya and Nochchiyagama areas. Police said that one person is an 18-year-old male while the other suspect is a 33-year-old work inspector.
The two suspects have stolen properties on a number of occasions including three Hilti machines and two grinders. Police say that the theft took place on September 26 last year.
