Divulapelessa police arrested two employees of a granite quarry in Mahiyanganaya for stealing 3,000 liters of diesel worth Rs.1.3 million from fuel bowser on Tuesday.
The 18 and 24 years old suspects are residents of Hebarawa and Elhenapitiwala, police said. It has been revealed that the suspects had stolen this diesel from the bowser on several occasions from September this year.
Based on a complaint lodged by the manager of the granite quarry the police had conducted an investigation into the incident and had arrested both suspects along with several liters of stolen diesel. Police were to produce the suspects before the Mahiyanganaya Magistrate yesterday. Divulapelessa police are investigating.
