I just got home from Halifax yesterday. We had our most successful club opening this past week. over 3400 people came out to check out the newest fitness club in Atlantic Canada.
People. So many people. It was awesome.
Today was supposed to be a longer run day for me, but I woke up at 8am after sleeping since 9pm the night before and recognized that my body needed yoga. I was right. The hardest part was trying to turn off my brain during the meditation at the end. But I did. Sort of. I am exactly two weeks out from my Army Run half marathon in Ottawa, Ontario. I am very nervous. I am also excited. I will get to spend some time with my family as well as meet up with my Foodie Pen Pal who is ALSO running the half! What a coincidence.I was also able to work some magic in the kitchen today. I saw a delicious recipe on a blog that I read regularly called Crazy Healthy Fit for Chocolate Pumpkin Almond Cookies. So I made my own. I will post the recipe on my "It's Yummy in Here" tab at the top of my blog.
I also tried a little experiment. It's pretty self explanatory, I made little "sandwiches" with apple slices, coconut, almonds and almond butter. Make sure you "butter" both sides of the "bread" so everything sticks together. If you like cinnamon you can sprinkle a little bit on top. Yum!
