The big story: Twitter, Facebook take action against Trump's disinformationFacebook and Twitter both took action against a post from President Donald Trump and his campaign with a clip of an interview with Fox News in which he misleadingly described children as "almost immune" to COVID-19. Facebook removed the offensive post, while Twitter went further and blocked the Trump campaign from his account (separate from Trump's personal account).
"The @TeamTrump Tweet you referred to is in violation of Twitter's COVID-19 disinformation rules," said Aly Pavela of Twitter in a statement. "The account owner will need to remove the Tweet before they can tweet again."
Meanwhile, Twitter also announced today that it will label accounts linked to state-controlled media organizations and government officials (but not to heads of state).
