Story: Twisters starts when retired tornado-chaser Kate Carter (Edgar-Jones) reluctantly returns to the field to help her friend Javi (Ramos). Javi has been working with new technology to understand tornadoes more to try and give people more warnings. Meanwhile, social media tornado wrangler Tyler (Powell) has whipped up quite the following of amateur storm-chaser.

When one of the biggest storm fronts hits the area, Kate must work with the teams to tackle them. However, it means confronting her demons and accepting more help from everyone else.

Verdict on Twisters

Twisters is an action-adventure movie following a group of tornado-chasers who want to change how people deal with tornadoes. It sees them using new technology which could become game-changing. However, not everyone involved has the same ideas.

This movie does end up being an updated technology remake of the story. It uses the idea of trying to stop tornadoes to save lives and one person lost faith in their idea. However, with new helps, new ideas and a new vision it becomes the most important thing. While the story is similar and the action is massive, it checks the boxes perfectly well.

The cast can feel a bit bloated, which doesn’t give Tyler’s team enough time to shine. Glen Powell continues to ride the wave of success, and he seems to be able to shine in any role he is given. Daisy Edgar-Jones brings a more grounded character like Helen Hunt from the 1996 movie. Even though Brandon Perea can be annoying, his character fits the loud annoying YouTube generation he represents.

Final ThoughtsTwisters is big action, great leads and a whirlwind of a good time.
