Twins blasts in Karachi: two dead, several injured
At least two people were killed and several others injured in twin bomb blasts near Haider Karar Imambargah in Orangi Town area of Karachi on Wednesday.
The second blast, most likely to be caused by a planed device, occurred at the same spot moments later where the first blast had exploded at 6:30pm, killing two persons and injuring seven including children.
Media persons, rangers, policemen and citizens were gathered at the site first blast when another blast exploded, in result of which scores of people were injured.
The injured are being rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and other nearby hospitals.
Rangers, police and other law enforcement agencies have cordoned of the area and started collecting the evidence. Bomb disposal squad has also arrived at the affected area.
Speaking to Geo news after first blast, DIG West, Javed Odho said that the explosives were planted in a motorcycle which blew up after collusion with an auto rikshaw.
No group has claimed the responsibility of blasts so far.
The blast has damaged several shops outside the Imambargah, where a Moharram-ul-Haram congregation was underway.
