Turning Twenty-Nine

By Francoisetmoi

Hello 29. Glad to see you!Throughout my twenties I’ve always sort of enjoyed turning that next year older because I’ve often been taken for younger than I am–much younger than I am. (Like being told I look age 16 when I was 25–that’s not flattering, that’s frustrating!) I think I used to take offense to it because in my mind it implied naivety, but the more time that passes, the less emphasis I put on it, and the less it bothers me. Like with anything, right?

Each year that comes around seems to be better than the next. Sure, there are difficult moments, but through each experience, we learn something about ourselves and the world around us, and keep moving with a little more clarity in our back pockets. I think if you’re awake and listen to what you really want, you can keep redefining what you want your life to be, and hopefully make the next year better than the one before it!

This year, I look forward to growing Francois et Moi’s readership, buying and renovating our first home, and continue exploring more of this giant and fascinating world! Bring it on 29!
