L'Osteria dell'Acquacheta in Montepulciano was yet another Slow Food Rec that met up to its expectations. It was the first meal at a resto where all 12 of us ate and I need not have worried that we pesky Yankees would be disruptive; we Yankees were far outnumbered by visitors from all over who in the tiny 40-cover railroad car "cave" space that was a cross between a 747 and the St James outside Bordeaux shouted us out.
Once again there was something for everyone:
- brochettas with tomatoes
- green salads with pecorino
- salumis
- a T-bone steak under-cooked to perfection
- pear slices with ricotta
- pasta with butter or meat or pesto and
- a sort-of chocolate moelleux.
Our bill with a liter of house Montepulciano, bottled water and 6 coffees, was 140 E; thus 26 E a couple for a hellova meal.
