The chart above shows the monthly net approval rating (% approving minus % disapproving) of Donald Trump since he was sworn in. For January of 2019, that net approval was at a record low -- for the general public, for Independents, for Democrats, and even for Republicans.
In January of 2017, the general public had him rated at +10 net approval, but that has now dropped to a -15 -- a drop of 25 points. The Independents had him rated at 0, but it is now-22 -- a drop of 22 points. The Democrats had him rated at -46, but it is now -79 -- a drop of 33 points. And the Republicans had him rated at +74, but it is now +68 -- a drop of 6 points.
