Trump's Job Approval Numbers Are NOT Improving

Donald Trump recently bragged that his poll numbers were improving. This is just not true. While the numbers in the polls go up or down by a point or two, the truth is that Trump has not significantly improved his job approval numbers at all. A year ago, he was at 39% approval and 51% disapproval. The latest poll shows him currently at 39% approval and 50% disapproval.
His numbers have been upside-down since he was sworn into office, and they are not improving. The third chart shows what (in my opinion) is the reason he is failing to improve his numbers. A significant majority (53%) of Americans consider him to be dishonest and untrustworthy (while only 30% say he is honest and trustworthy). His numbers will remain poor as long as the public sees him that way.
These charts reflect the results of the latest Economist / YouGov Poll -- done between May 13th and 15th of a random national sample of 1,500 adults, with a 3 point margin of error.
