Trump Is Also Doing Poorly In Bright Red Texas

Texas is a red state. It hasn't elected a Democrat to statewide office in about a quarter of a century, and it voted solidly for Donald Trump in the 2016 election (by a substantial margin). But a new poll shows that Texans are as unhappy with Trump as the rest of the nation.
His job approval in Texas is upside-down -- with 43% approving and 51% disapproving. Also, only 38% say he has an appropriate temperament to be president, while 53% say he doesn't -- and only 35% think he's honest and trustworthy, while 55% say he is not. Those are some very terrible numbers for a red state.
Texans don't care much for the House-passed AHCA (Trumpcare) bill either. Only 20% approve of it, while 51% opposes it.
These numbers are from a new University of Texas / Texas Tribune Poll -- done between June 2nd and 11th of a random sample of 1,200 registered voters in Texas, with a margin of error of 2.83 points.
