You could tell that Donald Trump was proud of al-Bagdadi being killed under his leadership, and he was quick to claim credit for it. I think he thought he could use it to elevate his standing with the American public.
And as the top chart shows, about 54% of the public did give him credit for killing the terrorist. But as the charts below show, that didn't help his standing with the public. About 54% say he is not a strong leader. About 54% say his policies have made the U.S. less respected in the world. And about 51% say his withdrawal from Syria has hurt the U.S. image as a trustworthy ally.
