Every year True Blood adds and subtracts characters. Some last for only one episode, some are supposed to be around for one but end up staying for longer and others become fixtures in Bon Temps. Below is a summary of what we know so far about some of the new faces we will be seeing in Season 6 of the hit HBO show.
Ben Flynn – Ben will be played by Rob Kazinsky (Brothers & Sisters) and will first appear in Episode 2. As we told you here, Sookie (Anna Paquin) is going to have a new love interest this season and it looks like Ben is the one. When we see him he will be in the midst of a vampire attack and Sookie will help nurse him back to health. Ben is a “moderately powerful” faerie and Kazinsky admits that he did not put any nudity clauses in his True Blood contract so we will pretty much see him without clothes the whole time.
Niall Brigant – Fans of the Sookie Stackhouse novels will know that Niall is Sookie and Jason‘s fae grandfather. This “super-super-old faerie” will be played by Rutger Hauer (Buffy The Vampire Slayer) and he will first debut in the Season 6 premiere. He shows up to help his grandchildren – presumably while they are trying to escape The Authority’s headquarters. Hauer reveals that he “shows them a few tricks”.
Nicole Wright – Nicole is a vampire-rights activist that will be played by Jurnee Smollett-Bell (Friday Night Lights). We will get our first glimpse of her during Episode 2 where she will be fighting for the cause. No one is saying “what” Nicole is (i.e. vampire, faerie, human, etc.) or how long she will be around.
Gov. Truman Burrell – The governor will be played by Arliss Howard (Rubicon) and he will start off with a bang right from the premiere. Burrell is one of those characters that commits evil acts, but he feels they are justified so he excuses his behavior that way.
Willa Burrell – The governor’s daughter will be played by Amelia Rose Blaire (90210) and will first pop up in Episode 2. Willa does not share her father’s anti-vampire views so it will be interesting to see how she is “used” in the war. According to IMDB Willa is only scheduled to appear in 2 episodes so she may meet her end, further fueling her father’s obsession.
